bluecalm
No agreements other than 2/1. Partner is relatively unknown but from what I've played with him he seems to be very good. Still we played like 50 hands together so far so no sophisticated agreements here. [hv=pc=n&w=skqt8732hj3dca743&d=e&v=n&b=2&a=1h2d2sp3hp]133|200[/hv] IMPs.What do I do here ? TWO4BRIDGE
If you played Voidwood, I'd bid 5D! ( RKC for ♥, Excluding the ♦Ace ).
mikeh
Question: is 3♥ forcing for you? If not, then this hand isn't worth more than 4♠. It is forcing for me: 2♠ promised another bid, but that won't be universal. Even for me, 3♥ eliminates some useful good hands for opener, but he may be stalling with a good hand and no clear direction. In any event, I am NOT going to show a diamond void and heart support....why do I want to strongly suggest a club lead when my trumps are short and my spades are non-solid? No...this hand plays in spades and with a diamond lead from LHO, if at all possible. I will cue 4♦. Over 4♥, I bid 4♠. He will usually be able to move with the cards I need. I am closer to just bidding 4♠ than any other call because he does need magic cards on the auction so far, but I don't think it can cost to make one try.
Fluffy
I find it very hard to cherry pick a hand that makes grand, at this point, this often means trying for slam is wrong. I'd go for just 4♠.
MrAce
My first reaction was also 4♠ What would be 4♠ prev round by us, and what does it mean now after we started 2♠ ? I think 2nd should show better hand, but i know people who plays 4♦ here as COG rather than cue for slam and ♥ fit. After all it is funny to play in spades when pd is void and has 7 hearts imo. I just think it is weird to insist on spades when we have a support to pd and void in opponent suit from short trumps. I may be missing something, what do you all think ? Finch
I don't think 3H is forcing in most normal methods (you might have agreed differently as mikeh clearly has), so I just bid 4S. This shows a better than a direct 4S last round.
bluecalm
Partner had:J AKT764 A97 KQT and the auction continued: 4D - 4NT5D - 6Hpass one down as Q♥ was offside. 6S was a laydown thanks to stiff J. Thanks all for comments I am still unsure what to do though.
Fluffy
this kind of hand where partner has a stiff key honnor are impossible for me, specially when the honnor is a jack or a 10, perhaps partner should reopen 4♠ with all the cards seeming to work. If my spades were headed AJ10 I´d be with you, but KQ10 gotta be trumps. Its true that partner can have a nightmare hand with ♥KQ10 and void, but such is life, COG must be for hands where there is a real doubt, this one is too extreme IMO. JLOGIC
4D seems like a bad bid but I don't think 4H is that crazy over 4S, even though 4S is normal with this hand type. I would still bid 4S but I do wonder.
