Obviously I should have checked more carefully what GIB thought my bids meant, but it seems strange the way he evaluates my 5♣ after i initially passed 3♣. This is a well-documented recurring theme for GIB: he "forgets" about your previous passes when determining what your later bids mean. cloa513 Posted October 5, 2012 Report Share Posted October 5, 2012 Despite the funny analysis of your hand- it manages to get to the really good small slam. The problem is the opening of 2♥- its got three places to play- hearts, clubs and spade- it has too much- its not a defensive hand in nearly purely hearts. Its should have most of its high card points in hearts (10-12 is reasonable for vul against not). Its really a pass as the 1 level isn't a reasonable opening either.
