Jinksy
[hv=pc=n&s=sat62hat5dj876c87&w=sk83hkqdaq943cqt3&n=sqh9764d52cak9642&e=sj9754hj832dktcj5]399|300[/hv] I played this hand in 2S by W the other day, and went one off. Deep Finesse says you can make, but every time I think I've figured out the line I notice something I've missed. Have a nagging feeling that it's going to be something embarassingly straight forward, but such is life. No cheating just because it's DD, though... PhilKing
There's no need to look too deeply into this one. Presumably the defence starts with three rounds of clubs, ruffed with the seven and overruffed with the ten (best). To make 8 tricks you have to drop the stiff queen in the North hand. Deeep finesse is good at this sort of thing, because it looks at all four hands.
Jinksy
Ah, yeah. I should stop looking at these things at 2am
CSGibson
Its fairly simple. They are entitled to 2 clubs, 2 trumps, and the ace of hearts. Whatever the defense, you can restrict them to those winners as long as you knock out the ace of hearts before attacking trumps and finesse the J of diamonds in some permutations. There are a lot of permutations, but they all lead to the same general road.
