Whooda thunk that the difference between South following low with 6 instead of the 5 would be enough for East to shift at Trick 2 instead of returning the diamond?

You have wonder what's in GIB simulations where letting East win with the K makes sense for South's hand (assumes SOuth plays DD) and what a return in the same suit could lose. Anyone want to imagine what could be that possibility? Can anyone with access to the code tell us why this happens?

Does GIB give any signals? Why the D4 (and not the 3) at T2?

GIB will frequently high-low to show a doubleton. Other than that, his card selection is based entirely on what he simulates will "work out best". He does not, for example, make suit-preference signals when giving his partner a ruff.
