Edit .lin file off-line

I can use the Movie - like a graphic tool - only when I am logged in. But while I am creating/editing/modifying .lin files, I do not need to be on-line, the functionality does not require it. Recently using BBO installed (not the Web interface) I can use the movie - like a graphic editor – only when I am logged in.

I think I can create a board off-line (using the Movie program), than later I log in to BBO and load this board to the current table or whatever. But actually I cannot use the Movie off-line.

Do you plan to make the Movie function as a stand alone program?

Never say never, but I don't think we're likely to create any standalone programs.

Ok, I understood your point, but try to think from a different approach: Why is it necessary to stay on-line when I edit/create .lin files? Maybe there is another solution than the stand alone program. I can imagine this function inside the actual NetBridgeVu.exe avoiding the log in procedure. (Like actually you have a button to view the .lin files without log in.)

I am sure that you can configure the NetBridgeVu.exe program to allow create .lin files without logging in. (To enter the Movie function without logging in.)

If you create a hand using any program to create one in PBN format, you can then open that file with netbridgevu and it will create a lin file with the same name in the same directory. There are loads of programs that will create files in PBN format, complete with play.

If you are familiar enough with the syntax you can always create/edit using something offline, like notepad. This goes for Lin or handviewer type files.

I would like to be familiar but where is the syntax graph or definition? Do you have any documentation about it?

Rain, with this answer you did not answer my question but try to escape into another topic. Or does your answer means a simply "noway, we cannot do that" ?

I am open to learn the syntax. But if you say later there is no syntax documentation than read again my original question! Did you answer it?

Ben, I know this option. Like a workaround I am using it. But my question is slightly different. Why we need to solve this simple problem in this difficult way you have suggested? With the Movie you can create files, my question is very simple: Why we need to stay on-line to do that? (This would be the simplest solution. why don't BBO solve something on its simple way? Or is it not so simple to modify the program? )

We stopped doing any work on NetBridgeVu a number of years ago, and are not going to make any changes unless they're necessary to keep it working.
