whereagles
Well, I'm not a fundamentalist. Pard may do whatever he pleases, provided he takes responsibility for his system "escapades" :)
joker_gib
It's not really the kind of "escapades" I like but OK .... :) :)
Guest Jlall
5D exclusion? what on earth do you do with a hand that just needs a spade control?
sceptic
what is wrong with 1 heart open and pard bidding 1 spade with 4 then going on from there, 1 spade wont get passed out as it is an unlimited bid?
whereagles
There's nothing wrong with starting with 1♠. Skipping spades does risk losing a 4-4 fit but leaves opps to make a blind lead if 1♥-3NT is passed out. To bid spades or not is therefore a tactical option. joker_gib
Not bidding ♠ here for me is a crime ! Tactic or not tactic ! <_<
luis
I open a mundane 1♥, I we'll have a better problem with this hand later in the auction. Monster two suiter? You have no idea, at the club last night my mother (ana) received ♠KJTxxxx ♥AKQxxx ♦- ♣-And I started the bidding with 1♥ :-) too good we were playing a system where she was able to find the spade ace and then bid 7♥. West doubled with two aces with an expression as saying "these poor dudes have no idea" and after the lead he was -2240 in 7♥xx without a single trick played I held Ax, Jxxx, Kxxx, Kxx
