I'll bid 6♣. There are many constructions where this has at least play to make (say partner has ♠- ♥AKxx ♦KQx ♣AKxxxx). I suspect that often both 5♠ and 6♣ will be one down, and when this happens I probably lose 5-6 imps... but if either 6♣ or 5♠ makes bidding will be a much bigger swing in my favor, and there is also the possibility that opponents decide to bid 6♠ over 6♣. At MP I would pass, but MP is a game of frequency whereas at IMPs the size of the win or loss has to factor in. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
