Phil
Yes / Pass. Tougher if partner weren't a passed hand.
Quantumcat
Easier if you are a bit stronger - you bid 3NT in a really annoyed fashion, indicating you wanted pard to make a take-out double. This annoyed fashion can also be used after a weak two opening, when pard bids a suit but you wanted him to double :-P

chasetb
1NT here. We have doubleton support, and enough points that 2♠ shouldn't be a problem. 1NT also keeps the bidding open - there's no reason why partner can't have an opening hand, or that because of the lie of the cards we can make game on less points than usual if partner has 9-11. Yu18772
......there's no reason why partner can't have an opening hand..... Assuming partner doesnt play forcing passes, pass as an opening bid shows that he doesn't have an opening hand....http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gifYu
