JLOGIC
blah first time not winning the first pair game in 3 nationals. Stil have chance to win FIRST PAIR GAME.
CSGibson
Roger is still in the GNT's; any other BBOers left?
wyman
Missed Qing for the LM pairs by < 1/2 a bd, how tilting. I saw some other bbo-ers in that boat so I sympathize. And it looks like a handful of pairs missed qualifying by even less, so can't complain too much I guess, but man, it sucks.
y66
I see that Noble Shore and Mike Gill are in the semis in Flight A with team Bragin. Would love to see those guys take it all.

Does suck to lose out by that much.
Phil
I see that Noble Shore and Mike Gill are in the semis in Flight A with team Bragin. Would love to see those guys take it all. They won their R8 match something like 174-10. The 3Q was 75-0. Ouch.
BunnyGo
They won their R8 match something like 174-10. The 3Q was 75-0. Ouch. I thought you were exaggerating until I looked; ouch indeed.
rduran1216
the same team that knocked me out of D23, knocked Phil out of the round of 16, is now in the semis also. So I have selfish reasons for hoping they win haha.
y66
I see Team Prairie is in the finals in Flight C. Will be rooting for them today. Ditto for Jeff Roman (favorite bridge pro) and Lynn Deas who are in 11th place in the LM Pairs, one place ahead of Jeff's former partner John Fout who is playing with Stepannie Russo. Heron
I see Team Prairie is in the finals in Flight C. Will be rooting for them today. I'm also interested in that match, though my sympathy lies with the other team. It's a bit hard to follow from far away, though; I've only just realized that at least the set-by-set scoring on the KO bracket page does get updated in realtime, but I'm surprised that there are no hand records available online yet at all. Am I missing anything?
barmar
I'm also interested in that match, though my sympathy lies with the other team.Me too, since they're my home district and 2 of the team members are friends and regulars at my club. I was also in a similar position about a dozen years ago: made it to the finals of GNT-C, was down by 33 with a quarter to go; in our case, we fought back but still lost by 1 IMP (mistakenly reported as 2 by the other team). Elianna
I predict that at least one of Adam or I will make it to day 2 of the Spingold. I'd even be willing to break my no gambling rule and bet on it. :)

Tomi2
I'm hoping the round of 16 Spingold match between #2 and #18 is on vugraph. first they must survive Bocchi-Madala... what a match in the round of 32, Hamman-Bocchi, who played so many bermuda bowl finals in the last 20 years
rduran1216
HURDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD man~ rumor has it you were quite the lively one after the last board. That was Joel's fault, if he just passes 4S I think the A of clubs lead is more likely.
JLOGIC
Insane how good the field is in the spingold this year wtf. Maybe doesn't help that our likely draws are the nut low lol. Anyways, hope we win our R64 match, then we can talk about bocchi-madala (who beat me in the vandy).
kenberg
Had great fun in the bar tonight watching the last few boards of the GNTs. I could like this bar!!!! I almost didn't stay for the last hand, what a mistake that would have been. I'm in the Men's room today, a guy comes in and asks "Was the bridge exciting enough for you last onnight?" Cyberyeti
That last hand is unreal, gave me this deja vu. [hv=pc=n&w=sa53hkdaj952cq862&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=4s5h5s6h6s7hdppp]133|200[/hv] Your lead ?
wyman
Quick "man-could-we-get-a-worse-draw" story: Missed Q'ing for d2 of the LM pairs by < 1/2 a board, play the Saturday AM KO and get KO'd in r1. Seriously not having the best few sessions, right? So we go to play the "loser swiss": just the one-session Swiss on Saturday afternoon. r1 I sit down and have Allan Graves on my right and Richie Schwartz on my left with Baldursson and Jonsson at the other table. We lose that match by like 16 including a slam swing where only one of two reasonable lines works, so it felt closer than it was, especially since the round was only 6 boards. So we go for round 2, and I have Nick Demirev on my right and Jeff Wolfson on my left, with Steve Garner and Jack Oest at the other table. Oof -- tough draw for a loser swiss!
