Are we done or are we going or should we be doing something in the middle ?
cherdano
I think we have done enough. If partner has ♠AQ and four diamonds, he will work out by himself that his hand is golden.
Phil
Partner last trains and I'm looking at the trump AKQ? RU serious?
cherdano
I don't believe we have AKQ of trumps.
inquiry
Partner last trains and I'm looking at the trump AKQ? RU serious? i agree partner last trained, but I am not looking at the AKQ of trumps, I am looking at the KJ8 of trumps. Still, the club finesse if needed is on, and we have only one loser in diamonds. I am pulling out blackwood over the last train...
TWO4BRIDGE
Partner last trains and I'm looking at the trump AKQ? RU serious?Partner could also have Ht-shortness for the 4H bid .
Yu18772
Partner last trains and I'm looking at the trump AKQ? RU serious? Isnt trump ♠? 4♥ is definitely cooperative with slam idea, so I am an optimist...... Just out of curiosity, what is something in the middle between 4♥ and 4♠ http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif?http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif Yu
MrAce
Partner could also have Ht-shortness for the 4H bid . You mean something like Axxxx x xxx xxxx Qxxx x Axxx xxxx ? I think stiff heart is perfectly fine for slam if thats what he has, as long as he doesnt have more than 4 clubs.
Phil
I don't believe we have AKQ of trumps. Details, petty details.
MrAce
Just out of curiosity, what is something in the middle between 4♥ and 4♠ It means something that doesnt bid 4♠ and close or it dosnt ask aces and bid slam, some sort of retransfering the headache to pd bids. yin970902
I will be in progress of a slam.4NT ask Ace
JLOGIC
First thought was bid in case partner has Axxxx of spades and out. But in that case, will he show the queen if i ask (I think not), or am I just driving opposite 1?

Wouldn't starting some kind of cue sequence now be kind of torturing the partner? http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gifYu

Finch
I think it's obvious to bid 4S. If partner has Axxxx in spades isn't he going to move again?
gnasher
I think it's obvious to bid 4S. If partner has Axxxx in spades isn't he going to move again?Yes. He'll probably move again with AQxx xx xxx xxxx too, which isn't much of a slam.
MrAce
Pd had QxxxxxAxxxxxx I went to slam. Things went smoothly when spades broke 2-
mfa1010
Very close. I would probably bid 4♠ but maybe that is too timid. I expect exactly one nice filler card most likely for the last train 4♥.
rmnka447
Pard showed something like 0-7 by bidding 1 ♠. After a 4 ♦ splinter, partner has bid 4 ♥. It has to be some sort of positive call. Most of the time, I'd expect partner to simply bid 4 ♠. 4 ♥ could be a number of things, but whatever it is, it has to be slam positive. So, I'd just bid 4 NT and go to slam if pard shows an A. gszes
you bid 4d because you felt slam was possible over a 1s response from p. P has to have a hand near top for last train which is what you were lookingfor. IMO bid it since you are behind opening bidder and any finesses u might need are a huge favorite to work. JLOGIC
The idea of partner driving past 4S with Axxxx and out is pretty crazy to me, his hand could be significantly better than that to bid 1S. Last train seems perfect with that.
