TWO4BRIDGE
2♦! ( 4tfh suit GF ) - 2NT ( stop(s) in 4th suit )3♣ ( discloses the reason for GF ) - 3NT ( Opener tries to discourage ) ??
mike777
2♦! ( 4tfh suit GF ) - 2NT ( stop(s) in 4th suit )3♣ ( discloses the reason for GF ) - 3NT ( Opener tries to discourage ) ?? agree now 4c.....now east has a max within context. west has shown spades, clubs, unbalanced hand and a willingness to go past 3nt. west knows east has diamond values. east can think no wasted values in hearts. SteveMoe
I follow Don's approach but with a different twist. BTW, 3♣ would be invitational. Therefore 2♦ 4th Suit GF is best. -------1♥1♠ - 2♣2♦ - 2NT3♣(1) - 3♦ (2)3♥(3) - 3♠ (4)4♣ (5) - 4N (6)6♣ Where:(1) = GF, trump set, begin control bidding partner (See Ken Rexford for details)(2) = ♦ control and good trumps (Hxxx in context)(3) = ♥ control(4) = ♠ control(5) = Minorwood(6) = 2 Keys plus ♣Q
aguahombre
2♦! ( 4tfh suit GF ) - 2NT ( stop(s) in 4th suit )3♣ ( discloses the reason for GF ) - 3NT ( Opener tries to discourage ) ??Opener with super controls in everything but hearts will not discourage. His hand has become hugh in context of responder's slam try in clubs. Hearts are out of the picture....so much so that responder can even bid 4H over 3D as exclusion. 6C becomes easy to reach. 7C would be probed, but abandoned. I recall his 3H! cue would be any of the THREE top honors.I also wonder how Ken would feel about Aguaman's 4H! Voidwood ! I'm a big fan of Minorwood and slam bidding, but how good is this slam if Opener is: ♠ 5♥ A J 10 9 8♦ A Q 2♣ Q 9 8 2 This hand is a difficult problem for the 13 hcp Opener and his 10 hcp partner . Once we agree the suit, bids are control beids, even in a suit bid previously by partner as we hd shown no fit. On the hand you show, after the 3♥ control bid, a 5♣ bid is forthcoming as no ♠ control and duplication in hearts should slow us down.
