LHO leads the ♠J - note: GIBs love short suit leads against NT, so don't think the spades are breaking. Onward.
Hanoi5
High spade from the table, small one towards the Ace and a club up.
Phil
Ok, if you choose ♠K, ♠A, LHO will show out on the spade and pitch a heart. A ♣K to the K wins.
gszes
UGHHHH this hand looks ugleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sooooo i picture lho with x(x)KJxxx(K or Q) T9xxA(x) trick 1 spade Ktrick 2 small dia hoping rho plays stiff honor if not we are probably doomed (win ace)trick 3 small club if the hand i imagined exists lho is doomed to be endplayedand we will score 2c 3s 2d 2h it is all just a matter of technique. The key is not winningtrick 1 in hand because with perfect defense we will have insufficint entries in hand to forcew into leading a heart for us. assuming lho ducks the club trick 3 win club andtrick 4 return SMALL club from dummy (hear roar of applause from crowd and be prepared for board of inquiry) letting Ax catch airtrick 5 depends on what lho does if they return a heart game overwin in hand and lead dia toward J 2d 2h 3s 2c if lho plays a small dia (our 2nd dia trick play the J cash the clubcash 2 spades wherever and lead a dia for endplay if lho lead dia q and clears dia win the j cash club cash 2 spades ending in handlead the 4th dia for endplay this is a very low % LOP but it does have the advantage of having a chance. Any other LOP leaves us at least down 1. This line risks maybe down 2 (4c 1h 1d) but can make. I can't picture any other lie of the cards that allows us to make with perfect defense unless it issomething like heart K onside and rho having KQ doubleton of dia a situation I think is far lesslikely than my proposed LOP.

LHO leads the ♠J - note: GIBs love short suit leads against NT, so don't think the spades are breaking. Onward. Grasping at straws: hoping for defensive error(s): Win ♠A. Lead to ♣Q. Cash ♠K (LHO shows out). Duck a ♦ (hoping for blocked ♦ position or defensive error - it's easier for RHO to make a mistake with lead from dummy). Win LHO's ♦ return. Lead ♣ to LHO's ♣A. Win LHO's ♣ return with dummy's ♣K. Duck ♥ to LHO. If LHO was dealt- ♠ J ♥ KJxxxx ♦ KQ ♣ AJT9, then this line works legitimately. but it has chances when LHO has e.g.- ♠ J ♥ KJTxxx ♦ QT ♣ AJT9, if LHO mistakenly cashes the fourth ♣ (exposing RHO to a pointed suit squeeze).- IF LHO had held say ♠ Jx ♥ KJTxxx ♦Q ♣ AJT9 then that line also works. After ♠A,. Lead to ♣Q. Cash ♠K. Duck a ♦ to LHO's singleton ♦ honour., LHO exits with ♣A and another. Duck a ♥ to LHO. Now: If LHO cashes another ♣ RHO is squeezed. Instead if LHO exits immediately in ♥ then RHO is thrown in to lead into the ♦ tenace [/hv]
