RunemPard
My thoughts are based off of a natural 1♣ opening consisting of either 12-14 (B), 12+ w/ 4414 (4♣), or any U/B (5+♣). The hand cannot be 18-19 B, because these are opened differently. I have been thinking about possible uses of 2N/3♣ using these and have this in mind... 1♣* - 1♥/♠2N/3♣/3♦ 1♣ = 12-14 (B), 12+ (Marmic), or 12+ (5+♣)---1♥ = 6+ (4+♥)2N = 17+ (6/7♣), (2236, 2227)3♣ = 17+ (6+♣) (1336, 1237)3♦ = 17+ (6+♣) (0346, 0337) ... If the responder bids 1♦, 3♣ shows a single or void, or 3♥ is used instead. After 3♣/♦ partner relays to find shortness. Thoughts on using something like this? Or would it be better to show a well supported suit for NT play using 2N? Note: I have not spent a long time thinking this through. I just thought I would put it up for input on the idea.
