Fluffy
all vul, IMPs, partner deals and opens a strong club ♠K963♥97632♦7532♣- 1♣!-(pass)-1♦!-(2♦)X - ( 2 NT )-3♦-(pass)3♠-(pass)- ?? by agreement partner's double of 2♦ is take out, but cannot be a balanced minimum 16-17(18) hand, so either 16+ with short diamond or 19(18)+ balanced with 2, or perhaps stronger with 3. gnasher
I'd bid game, but I think it's close. Partner's having only three hearts is bad news, but he's got two ways to make - a crossruff and setting up the hearts - and it may be hard for them to prevent both. yin970902
I would pass, our ♠ is not enough to cross ruff.opps' 2NT let ♥ look like having a loss.
Fluffy
Thx for the replies, partner had: ♠AQxx♥AQxx♦x♣KQxx I almost posted the hand as ATB. Partner raised an interesting though. Since you are normally picking hearts when you have equal minimum lenght (3-3 in this case, but 2-2 in other both majors situations). bidding spades with equal maximum lenght is more descriptive/encouraging as it assures 4 cards now. What do you people think? 3♠ went 1 down where 4♥ would make.
han
Maybe partner should bid 4H, they are probably leading diamonds anyway so you don't have anything in your hand that you need to protect.

What do you people think?I don't think our bidding should cater for the possibility that opener is 3-3 in the majors. With a 3325 19-count, he should bid 3NT, 4♣ or 4♦ rather than risking playing a 4-3 fit with a 5-3 major-suit fit available. 3♠ went 1 down where 4♥ would make.It looks like 3♠ should be cold. How did he lose more than two hearts, a club and a diamond?
Fluffy
I didn´t follow the play but spades were 4-1 for sure
gszes
i came here late but seeing the hands did nothing to change my opinion after p bids x our hand has gone from 0-7 to a GF. There is a strong chancewe not only have a double fit but our club void has a ton of value for gamepurposes. I like the 3d bid asking p to choose a major and I would have bid3h (not 3s) for flexibility purposes alone. If p bids 3h there can be no doubtwe are going to 4h. Even with p bidding 3s I am headed for game and trustmy 4h bid will describe my 45 majors and let p choose.
dake50
Did their 2NT clarify that we have Majors?I try 4H over 3S. Partner should read that as H > 4xSfor my Q-bid.Interesting hijack if my hand were 6xH w 4xS. Bid 3H instead of 3D Q-bid? Lose 4-4 Spades or does partner 3S over 3H just-in-case?Jump 4D Q-bid means? Repeat 4D Q-bid means? Both after 1D:neg.
