claiming with a hidden card

Playing at a low lever field a woman claimed showing only top tricks, hearts as trumps

KJJ1064KA

But she inadvertelly had 6 behind A. This one was easy to solve as when she claimed my partner was on lead, and he just had to play a spade with stiif Q in dummy to prevent a pitch on K, so she had to lose the diamond.

But on other ocassions this one can be tricky, even if you had a lot of comunication it could be normal to get rid of every entry to dummy since you don´t know you still have a loser. It could also be normal to play all trumps and pitch QJ10 from dummy before you realice your low diamond exists since you don´t think you need them. What do you think?

You have to rely upon the statement made with the claim and the cards presented.

If there was no statement, and a hidden card is revealed which could result in the loss of a trick if declarer were not aware of the hidden card, then the trick should be lost.
