jtfanclub
Sorry, misread the question. The hearts block. You'd be better off with AKx. Doesn't matter- I would never X. Dummy's likely bid 3NT with a long minor he's hoping to run. Doubling gives a possibility of them shifting to 5m which will likely make. pclayton
I would ask the opponents if 3N shows or denies a heart stopper for starters. Seems like a normal Lebensohl 3N where 3N denies a stop. Yes I know that the auction is a little different given that 2♦ shows hearts; but it should be a natural auction. If 3N denies a stop, I quietly pass and let them find their fit at the 4 level. If it is supposed to show a stop, I'm doubling. If RHO runs after LHO says it shows a stop, I call the cops. I think pard has an entry or two, even if they have their expected combined 25-26, so they are not running 9 tricks here. No reason to think 3N is 'gambling' here. whereagles
More important than what opps play, is who is pard  Some pards I'd double, others I'd bid 4H, others I'd pass... on spot!

I can clearly see what the problem is: you have only 12 cards. My move is to call the TD, and get 60% if one of my opps has 14 cards ;)

Fluffy
ooooopsI overlooked the ♣7 :-( These was the full hand: [hv=d=n&v=e&n=s98xhj10xxxxdjxcxx&w=sakxhxxdaqxxxckjx&e=sjxxxhxxdkxxcaqxx&s=sq10xhakqdxxxc10xxx]399|300|Scoring: MP[/hv] Not only the 4♥ was getting a top with -500, but also doinganything else was leading to a bottom, everyone made -630 after ♥ lead, but your clever partner didn´t feel any need on leading such worthless suit if you passed and led wich at start looked promising ♠9 for -660. the hog
With all due respect Fluffy, if you bid 2H on rubbish like that your partner will fond it difficult to ever trust your bids again.
Fluffy
I know Ron, I know , but passed hand at this vulnerability I felt like it...., when I get these feelings I´ve learnt to make them as quickly as possible, so opponents will trust me. Gerben47
Opps don't know hearts are blocked, so you ask if 3NT shows or denies a stopper. If he says 'denies a stopper' you double. They will probably play 4♦ (-150) or 5♦ (-600) which is a top. If he says 'shows a stopper' you bid 4♥. You will have been misinformed though, dunno what the consequence will be but can not be worse for us than the actual score.
EarlPurple
3NT is making 10 tricks, 5 of a minor makes 11 but that's not as good a MP score for them and this is MP. However I think if 3NT is specifically denying a stop they are going to run out anyway even if I pass. Other tables won't have got the overcall and would be playing in 3NT.
