barmar
What is the lead ? ( I assume ♦ K ) .I think you're getting ahead of yourself, since the question was "play or defend?".
TWO4BRIDGE
What is the lead ? ( I assume ♦ K ) .I think I can make it on anything OTHER than a ♦ lead:w/ ♣ finesse and ♥ finesse.
Cyberyeti
Play I think: this seems to work on a diamond lead. Diamond lead, win, club finesse, AC, ruff a club, diamond ruff HA, spade to A, H KQ, spade to K Play winning clubs, E can ruff when he wants, but can only play spdes to dummy
Statto
I'm probably missing something obvious.Um, the bidding? How did we end up in 6♥ on a 4-2 fit? B-)
gwnn
Um, the bidding? How did we end up in 6♥ on a 4-2 fit? B-)The bidding is right there. ;) The concept of play or defend is to decide whether or not the contract makes, seeing all 52 cards. Incidentally, no other 6-level contract makes. Codo
Play 6 spades makes easily, even single dummy and 6 hearts double dummy. IF they do not lead a diamond, you simply ruff the third club and play 3 rounds of Hearts, east will get just his trump. If they lead a diamond, play on similar lines, but instead of drawing trumps ruff a diamond with the ace first and draw three rounds of trumps with a finesse. East has no diamond left to hurt you... TY Barmar! Edited May 24, 2012 by Codo

barmar
Play As I have no idea, how to use a spoiler, you need to believe me that 6 spades makes easily, even single dummy and 6 hearts double dummyTo make a spoiler, type your message. Select the part you want hidden, then use the Other Styles menu and select Spoiler.
benlessard
I like getting those number of tricks possible on the hands records. It give interesting double dummy problems that i can bring in the bathroom. Recently there was a hand where you can make exactly 10 tricks but not more in all denomination. Only in 1 of the 5 denomination the play was easy so in the end it was like getting four double dummy problems with the same cards.
