fuburules3
http://tinyurl.com/6me4w8w I'm willing to be convinced that 4D is not the right bid, but if 4D (presumably) is designed to help find a slam, it seems like GIB has about as good of a hand as I can imagine for a 2S bid and should cooperate. dkham
I agree Gib's hand is great after your splinter (was already a maximum). Thought it might be signficant he bid and didn't pass over the double of 4♦, but the description is the same as for his 2♠ bid.
cloa513
Rediculous pathetic raise to 2S period- its 10 HCP so at least 12 TP.
Bbradley62
Rediculous pathetic raise to 2S period- its 10 HCP so at least 12 TP.GIB counts his hand as 10 HCP and 10 total points.
nathan2008
i am surprised that GIB didn't bid 1nt first and then jump 3s for invitation. but if u want to bid slam with this hand, it is really high level bridge. Because 4d=1- d, doesn't mean void. I admit that in real game, north might pass 4dX and south might XX to tell pd D void. Then slam on the way. That is not easy for GIB i suppose. pigpenz
looks like to me that the 4♦ lets north know that they have no wasted values, unless its done on a singleton K or A its amazing that GIB can over evaluate for a 1NT opening and invite game on 7 hcp and here canthandle the evulation properly
