Systematically over this 12-14 nt I can:

pass

bid 2 forcing 2 and play it there

bid 2 forcing 2 followed by 3 showing a game invite with long diamonds

bid 2 as a quant invite where partner will bid 2nt with a min or 3 with a max (over both bids I can't then show , as that would be slamming)

blast 3nt

Your choice?

Inviting in diamonds seems obvious. If partner rejects how is 3N gonna be good?

I thought so too and invited in diamonds. Partner has 3 small diamonds (is that as good or better than high Hx?) which might suggest diamonds can run, but is a bare bones minimum with:

KQ6 Q654 865 AJ4

and passed 3 which made.

Of course it is a magic hand where the diamonds are KJ-tight onside and the AK of hearts are in the same hand in front of partner so 3nt would roll. I think the other table played in a spade partial down the other way?

Diamonds coming in is like ~40%? On top of that we might go down off the top if we lose 4 hearts and a spade. We might also go down like 5 on a bad day (spade lead to us, diamond hook loses, spade through then we lose some hearts). Lets say 4 spade losers, 3 heart losers, and a diamond...down 4. We will rarely make when the diamond hook is off (technically needing AKx of hearts on and the SA on or something similar). Seems like a bad game to me.

Call me resulter but i would bid 3 NT in a split second.

There are too many variables that will decide the outcome of this 3 NT and imo inviting discovers almost none of them. When you make an invitation with a long minor as your pd i take it as you need help in this suit. But you don't !! I would much rather prefer pd holding xx or xxx than Hxx or HHx vs a 12-14 NT. Even if pd knows correctly, each and every time when to b id 3 NT and when not when you invite, i would still not do it for the reason below..

By showing a long diamond suit and an invitation hand, not only to your pd but also to your opponents, you are reducing the chances of making 3 NT by A LOT imo, even if you score +130 vs other table 3 NT -200 or -300 winning +9 or 10 IMP will be a loser in the long run imo. This is way too valuable information that you give to defense with that type of hands. But when you bid 3 NT you may have this or you may have a 16 hcp balanced hand vs a weak NT. Very tuff to lead. And as Italians say, very first opening lead is way too important and disabling defenders from making a good one as much as you can is more vital than any other hint you are trying to predict by looking at your own hand when deciding if you guys should play game or stay in partscore.

Invite with long diamonds. The opoonents are no lols.

Yes, this is why it is a good idea to let them know we have long and an invitation hand, while it hardly says pd that it is actually better to hold xx(x) than Hx or HHx.

Yes Kx or KJx are horrible holdings.... while Axxx,Axxx, xxx,Ax makes 3 NT a lock... TY for this insight.
