Mbodell
Inquiry's posting trick didn't work for me, possibly because I'm not extracting the lin from the handviewer right. If I go to export deal and then the handviewer link it gives me a tiny url. If I follow that, it gives me a long url, but if I try to copy paste to excel I get something that when concat starts with some names. The URL in question looks like http:// www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?sn=JavaBean&s=SJ6HAT852DA942CQ4&wn=ghionis&w=SKT42H7DQJ73CAJT2&nn=mbodell&n=S8753HK4DK6CK8763&en=simaf&e=SAQ9HQJ963DT85C95&d=e&v=n&b=2&a=P1H%2810-15%205+!h%29DPPP&p=DQDKD8D2C3C5CQCAH7HKH3H2D6D5DAD3D4D7H4DTCKC9C4C2C6HJS6CTSASJS2S3S9H5S4S5HASTS7H6D9DJS8SQ&c=8 (obv without the between the // and the www) so the screen names and what not are included with the hands. Anyways, here's our opponents somewhat interesting early choice on hand 2:[hv=pc=n&e=saq9hqj963dt85c95&d=e&v=n&b=2&a=p1h(10-15%205+%20H)dp]133|200[/hv] Any votes for 1NT, 1♠, or pass here? mgoetze
I think 1♠ is silly and slightly prefer pass to 1NT.
MrAce
I know they are red and it is tempting but QJ9xx in front of the opener usually dissapoints my expectations from them. Especially when we tell declarer that we hold 5-6 of them. At the end if pd has ♥ T passing can be very profitable but LHO is favourable to hold it. Of course pd may hold ♥ A or K but these cards are not as good as T, because you prefer him to hold the T and hold a big card somewhere else. I would bid 1 NT. barmar
Mel's rule of 9: Add your length in their suit, number of honors, and the level of the contract, and convert the double if it's at least 9. In this case it's only 8, so his rule says to bid something. And this time it turns out to be right.

JLOGIC
I would pass, I don't think people pass enough here at this vul
Mbodell
At our table it was passed, and partner brought it in for 8 tricks and +380. The board was passed out at the other table.
gnasher
I'd bid 1NT. It's often hard to get the defence right against one-level doubled partscores.
gszes
at MP (where + 200 might be a huge score) I cansee the potential in pass. At IMPS the risk/rewardof a 1 trick set is way too small. There are stillmany games we have available and it is far too easyfor the opps to score up making for a large swingfor little probably gain. 1N

The "trick" with the =lin thing is the format has to be in lin file format. If it has the & signs in it with lot of equal signs, like in the one you posted, that is not lin file format. inquiry
Yeah you want to read this thread: http://www.bridgebas...y-included-how/ i understand the format, just not sure where you got it from with a cut and paste. All the hands i posted were direct cut-and-paste, using excel to strip out the not-needed parts and to add back the needed ones. Takes two copies, two paste (one copy from myhands, one paste into excel, one copy from a different cell in excel and one paste into the forum). To do this, you ahve to open the hand in handviewer (shown in your browser window). Copy the entire address, and paste that into excel. The have a cell that extracts the necessary bits (the lin file part), then another cell that adds the necessary bits (the square brackets, etc).
