Maybe eventually, but only if Blizzard fixes some of the retarded things they did and balance the classes better. Of course the game has been out for only 2 weeks, so I expect a lot of changes both sooner and later, but from what I've seen so far the game doesn't meet my expectations and the problem with hacked accounts really needs to get solved. hrothgar
FWIW There is a cow level (its called Whimsyshire) I managed to down Diablo on normal my first day of playing.I am now playing a hard core Witch Doctor and slowly moving towards Nightmare level... I am quitting MathWorks tomorrow and my new gig doesn't start until June 24th...Be interesting to see how much of the intervening time gets consumed by D3
rogerclee
I loved hardcore in D2 but it seems much more difficult in D3. I'm going to try to make some headway into inferno before I start a HC character.

Fluffy
Diablo and D2 ate enormous amounts of my 30s and now, I find myself consumed with ennui...I carefully avoided playing WoW for that reason, I can't play a bit each day, its full time or nothing. Cyberyeti
My first character was a wizard.I have found witch doctor much easier Main advice regarding Diablo be prepared fro a long fightyou will get hitmake sure that you have enough health to surviveMonk seemed to be easy mode, I did all the bosses on normal and everything until Izual on NM first time. Izual took 2 goes, not tried diablo yet. The monk's trouble is molten when combined with another obnoxious ability on the mobs with 3 blues. Wizard was much harder, 5 or 6 goes at Izual on normal before I got him and 2 or 3 at Diablo not getting close to killing him. Am not being very serious at this as my main game (CoH) has just had a new release so I'm playing that, I'm also gathering the bits to get to the hidden level and about to spend all my gold on that. MrAce
I have a question... In D2 we had 2 realms where in one of them you could duel other players, but as far as i remember hacking was legal in of them. We dont have duels in D3, no ? In D2 we had 2 realms where in one of them you could duel other players, but as far as i remember hacking was legal in of them. We dont have duels in D3, no ? Not yet. Blizzard's focus on D3 is primarily PvM instead of PvP. They will eventually release an arena for duels, I believe both team and individual, but it won't be out for a while, and it won't be like it was in D2. As far as the two realms, Blizzard has no intention of having ladder resets (the two realms in D2 were ladder and open), so everything will be open for now (and hopefully they keep hacking in check, but bots have allegedly already been developed for farming). Of course, Blizzard may change their mind about ladder resets, which effectively wipe out everyone's gear and makes them start from scratch. Time will tell. ETA: I think they announced patch 1.1 would include the PvP arena
Cyberyeti
My first character was a wizard.I have found witch doctor much easierMy witch doctor is only level 21 but I'm using a set of skills/runes that's very good when stuff is not dangerous (ie trash at normal diff) but will crash and burn later. Be interested to know what you use at higher level.
blackshoe
I have a demon hunter and a monk at roughly levels 20 and 14 or so, and I just started a barbarian. Different play styles for each class, all interesting and (so far, anyway) fun.

My WD is L32, just killed Diablo on hardcore and am playing in Nightmare Obviously, my main goal is to avoid dying, so I'm specced to avoid dying. The Diablo kill took a long time... Passive skills Jungle fortitude: Increase life by 20%Spirit Vessel: If you die, you get to come back with 10% healthZombie handler: Increases number of zombie dogs to 4 and increases dogs / zombies health Active skills Poison dart: Splinters (Single target dps)Summon zombie dogs: Life link (Zombie dogs absorb incoming damage)Acid cloud: Acid rainSoul Harvest: Life siphonSpirit Walk: JauntSummon gargantuan: Restless giant For the Diablo fight I switched out Soul harvest for haunt In general, for single target fights, I sit back and spew poison dartsWith large numbers of mobs, I rush in, hit soul harvest, and then drop an acid cloud or two I use spirit walk to avoid oh ***** situations and get away from wallers
MrAce
Thank you Jeremy. I did not survive hardcore I lost internet conn for about 10 seconds and it said i was slayed when i get my conn back. 2nd was when Skyler (my 2 years old ) basically distracted me and i was slayed by Skeleton King which is very easy to survive. I had an easy fight vs Diablo though and all other bosses. As Hroathgar i was careful not to die, i just leveled up 1 more than neccesarry b4 i got into it with the bosses. Barbarian has this active skill of "earthquake" which takes long time to fill it once you use it. So i spare it always to the bosses and it seems like it takes the life of bosses pretty quick. Thats basically how i got Diablo taken care of. Of course i had to bash the Sh..t out of him too :P Roger gave me some good tips, about "not crafting" and go to the auction house instead. That really worked well for me. I found a lot of items for cheap for Barbarian, a lot of Vitality and Strength (thats basically what barbarian needs) items. If what Jeremy said becomes true and they make arenas for duel and clans, we may perhaps create our BBO D3 Clan :P Out of topic : Anyone playing COD MW3 ? MrAce
My @$$ is being kicked badly in hell level as barbarian. Arcane beasts are tuff to deal with in close combat. I dunno wtf to do except than gold farming and buy decent stuff. I will have to give up on my shield too because seems like 1 handed weapons are weak and not doing enough damage. Any hints ? I am still (slowly) working my way through nightmare (in the middle of act 3)Playing hardcore encourages a very slow / conservative style of play. I still nearly got destroyed by a boss pack with fast + illusionist + fire chains...

Diablo 3 is basically AH flipping atm, the actual game is pretty secondary. Doubly so if you're a barb, DH's and wizards can build for much cheaper, whereas you really need primo gear for an inferno barb. Also, the blacksmith is a huge trap. Pretend he doesn't exist. But what build are you running? I'm about where you are (though undergeared because my Barbarian was boosted by some friends rather than naturally grown because they wanted a barb fourth rather than 2 demon hunters). http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WVRPik!bV!acbZac is the prefered solo build - the mandatory stuff is revenge+provacation Life on hit gear is great and overpriced atm. That said as most people are hitting inferno now there is some really sweet level 50-59 gear for quite cheap on the AH.

Any hints ? you should be looking for every slot to have strength/vitality/resist all modifiers secondarily you can look for: +armor, +life%, attack speed, and individual resists (physical being best, fire being second best, arcane being third best) I haven't seen any viable inferno builds that use anything but 1H+shield. I have all of those, but all their armour is too low . So i have to renew them. And these price gauging @#$% people selling good items like 500.000 + ??? Wtf ?? But yes i have built too much vitality and strength but not too much intelligence since i play barbarian, but that makes him ver vulnerable vs arcane beasts. He has to get into close combat too. I think i will do what u say and increase my armour and physical resistance.

I dunno wtf to do except than gold farming and buy decent stuff. I will have to give up on my shield too because seems like 1 handed weapons are weak and not doing enough damage. Any hints ?I've just hit 60 on my monk in act 3 hell. I geared up at 54 by getting as many items with dex/vit/res(all) as I could lay my hands on. I just accept that there are some combinations that are going to kick me (fire chains, molten, vortex for example) and reload if I can't do them (yellows with invulnerable minions, illusionist/horde and something that hurts aren't much fun either). Most of the time I can get one of the 3 blues down before dying, then finish them second time if I can't get them first time. Gearing up doesn't have to be expensive, I got enough gear for Acts 1 and 2 hell without paying more than 20K for a single piece, and most were <10K. The top of the line level 60 stuff is stupidly expensive though. For inferno, I'm looking at getting items with res(all) res(lightning) on them and taking the monk passive that means that you use your highest resist against everything. Not sure what you can do as barb as my highest only 12. Arcane enchanted you just have to run and make sure you don't get hit often. What sort of damage, life, armor and resist numbers are you working off and what level/which act hell ?
