OK, first question: Do you act here? Partner may shade his 3rd seat 1N a small bit, but hasn't outright psyched before. Agreements are to play xfer lebensohl over interference, and that X is take-out. Opponents are aggressive experts, partner is also an expert, and you are playing teams.

for the 2nd question I am going to forward the auction assuming you were going to compete with the plan of dropping partner in 3.

Do you fancy a piece of this? Again, playing teams.

I don't understand how we can make an invit+ call showing clubs. If we transfer and bid we are playing at least 3NT, otherwise we pass 3 and play there. I would just bid 3NT over 2, or do whatever shows a 3NT bid without a stopper.

On the second one, I would pass.

inv+ showing clubs forces to 4C (by bidding 3) - its not a very reasonable call in my opinion, but I figured I'd throw it in there

Also, I edited the poll to add 3N (no stop). It should have been in there to begin with.

I have an invitational hand with 5 clubs. I happen to be playing a method where I can't show an invitational hand with 5 clubs. Well, tough luck.

I think I'll bid 3NT if I'm behind in the match and 2NT if I'm ahead.

I have a piece of crud. This isn't an invite by any stretch of the imagination.

I agree with 2N. I don't exactly like it on AJxxx, but its losing bridge to pass 2, and I do not see a 3 cliamond call in my box.

Yay, they bid 3! Isn't this one of the scenarios you were hoping for when you bid 2N?

What was your question again?

It is unclear whether this is worth an invite over 1N to begin with. When they overcall spades, our Jx of spades loses value, the likelihood that they can run spades after knocking out a stopper goes up, the likelihood we even have a stopper goes down, the likelihood partner has a max goes down, the likelihood we go down multiple in 3N goes down, etc etc. Anything other than 2N or pass would be quite poor judgement imo.

Bidding game or not non vulnerable is much more of a 50/50 situation. So if I'm making a partscore and they make 3 NT, it's only costs 7 imps.

The Jx looks pretty worthless, so I'll just opt to Lebensohl and play 3 .

Pass is clear after 3 undoubled comes back to me.

when you start to talk about options please list them all

for ex is 3c/d/h all invite+? what about 3s?? does your

x for takeout promise 4h? what about 4c/d?

I would not x 3s and would pass over 2s if forced to choose

from the options given.

Since there is almost never any need to bid with garbage

(like there is when responding to a weak 2 tox from p) there

is rarely much need to "compete" with a weakish one suited hand

that can play only at the three level. Consider freeing up your

2n bid as competitve in the minors (at least over major suit

interference) and you have this hand nailed right from the get go.

This just seems random to me. If partner has a club fit, obviously I'd like to be in 3C. But if partner doesn't, defending might be our last plus (or we might not have one). I've had more bad results than good using Leb with only a five card suit, so I'm willing to defend here.
