kenberg
We watch this show. My feeling after the pilot was maybe yes, maybe no, but I think that the premise is developing well, maybe somewhat to my surprise. It is one of those shows that I rate higher as I see more of it. For the last couple of yeas we have been recording shows so that we can watch at our convenience and speed through the commercials. This leads to placing shows in the the record or don't record category, and this one we record.
sharon j
I like this new series. However, not sure I can endure another program like Lost. But so far it has kept my interest.
kenberg
I could never endure more than a couple of episodes of Lost. My wife watched the whole damn thing. Our marriage survived. Unlike Lost, I find myself actually interested in what aspects of it all are objectively true. Actually I should encourage my wife do the posting on this thread. She likes game of Thrones also. I watched a kid get thrown from a cliff on the first episode and signed off.
barmar
WIth Lost, if you cared about Sawyer, but not Jack, you had to endure all the Jack-centric episodes. Focusing on one character is a big improvement. He's also more sympathetic and likable than anyone on Lost, and his home life is relatable. Plus, if you're not THAT interested in the mystery aspect of the show, it's still an interesting fantasy procedural -- like Medium, but with the alternate realities instead of psychic abilities. PassedOut
Not to my taste. I don't go much for "afterlife" shows, even when thinly disguised.
Scarabin
I liked the first episode of Awake but I think my favourite TV show is still "Forbrydelsen", the Danish original not the remake. Later episodes of Awake seem to be poorer copies of the first.
y66
For me its one of the best pilot episode since Breaking Bad. It finally popped up on my Netflix queue. I'm watching episode 6 now. Got hooked by the episode in which Walt resolved his moral dilemma with Krazy 8. I thought that was pretty credible. The camera work is really good. Some of those desert shots are amazing. I've never watched a show where I so often felt like I was watching something from another show I've seen. Sometimes this is annoying. Most of the time it's fun. Like the scene where Walt is driving through a neighborhood and the sprinkler comes on and the tone of his voice sounds eerily like Kevin Spacey's in a similar scene in American Beauty, so much so that you expect to see Annette Bening gardening or one of their neighbors jog by. Walt could almost pass for my brother-in-law in terms of looks and straight laced on the outside wild man on the inside personality. And now I think I know what motivated my favorite nephew to become so interested in chemistry.
