I haven't had good experiences with overcalling in responder's suit with only five. To be precise, once I went for 500 on a partscore board, and once I talked them out of playing in four of the suit.

 

I would overcall 2♣, then 2♠ on the next round.

I had the hand and considered all of pass, 2C and 2S. I decided pass was a bit silly, but I think 2 of either black suit could be right. It might depend a bit on how light RHO likes to respond.

 

p.s. luckily, on the actual hand, it doesn't matter which of 2C and 2S you choose. Pass isn't very effective.

If anyone plays that 2♠ as some sort of artificial cuebid, you need help. For that matter, not expecting 5-5 is a bit bizarre to me, but at least it makes more sense than "cannot be bid naturally again."

At the table I chose pass, then doubled South's 2♦ rebid. We played in 3♥, which wasn't a success. The full hand:

I think 2♠ is probably best, but I'm not certain my partner would take it as natural.

We play 2S as natural, but I would just bid the suit, that has the highes chance to

find a fit with partner.
