Bbradley62
How did the auction go? Do you have a side entry?
TWO4BRIDGE
Lead the 5 ( 4th best ).Too many bad things can happen if you lead the A or K.
blackshoe
If you want to lead from that suit, and you've agreed fourth best, lead fourth best. If you've also agreed "ace from ace-king", imo, you have a bad agreement (ace from ace-king was originally intended, I believe, for leading against suits). Unless you happen to hit partner with great cards in this suit, leading the ace will probably give up a trick or two. So again, lead fourth best. Phil
Usually 4th best here.
Vampyr
Many people believe that you should lead a high card from a suit like this if the third card is the eight or higher.

rduran1216
had a hand at the club playin with a client the other day where she led low from AKxxx of spades and they scooped up 13 tricks after a 2NT p 3NT all pass auction. Turned out I had 3 jacks, and the 3NT bidder had a full 10. She asked whether she led the right card, I told her yes. As long as u can't count that you have the only entry, or the only possible points, the small card is right. Sometimes it doesn't work out, just like leading low from KQxx doesn't always work out, but thats the percentage play for a reason.
P_Marlowe
4th best. A common distribution of the suit would be 5332, 4th best kills declarers stopper, and p still has a card in the suit to lead it, if he regained the lead. If you lead a to honor, than your aim is to switch, in case, you choose to leadthe wrong suit, i.e. you need an alternative, e.g. partner overcalled, or you havea 2nd suit (with an entry), that could be developed. With kind regardsMarlowe
