BunnyGo
This is the first hand from the BBFPairs #2: [hv=pc=n&s=saq3hj72dqt94ca92&w=sjt872h4djc4&n=sk65hak5dk876ck75&e=s94h6da532c3&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1np3nppp&p=s9sqs7s5dtdjdkdas4sas8s6dqs2d6d2d9std8d3d4sjd7d5c5c3cac4s3h4skh6]399|300[/hv] Now what? If you play king of clubs and a club, East wins the queen (both following) and leads the heart 9.
mgoetze
I would have played the same line you played at the table.
BunnyGo
I would have played the same line you played at the table. So this is a lesson I supposedly learned at the Toronto NABCs, which is, no good player will let themselves be endplayed here...play for the drop. mgoetze
If a good player saw the endplay coming wouldn't he just unblock in clubs rather than discarding a heart?
BunnyGo
If a good player saw the endplay coming wouldn't he just unblock in clubs rather than discarding a heart? Yes, that's the point. So at the NABCs I got 1 matchpoint out of 36 for taking a line similar to this, and it was explained to me that at that level the players will unblock (unless playing mindgames with you). I considered this here too...but decided that dropping the heart queen was less likely, since both opps had pitched hearts and so there was no reason the queen should be dropping.
