New-ish partnership ... we have agreed to play snapdragon but little detail. This auction is a bit of an outlier, what's the best use for double here?

 

a) double shows 4 spades and 1♠ shows 5.

b) double shows spades and a tolerance for diamonds, 1♠ shows no tolerance for diamonds.

c) ditch snapdragon on this auction and use double for something else. (what?)

Lots of room for advancer to have spades. Dbl shows 5 spades and 1S shows 4 spades and maybe ten points? This lets you stop in 1S on a 5-2 fit where you don't have much.

From the suggested I like b more than a, but in general I prefer it to be a limited non forcing bid (with tolerance for ♦)......there is enough room for stronger hands to show spades starting with a double.
