ahydra
Auction looks perfectly sane to me. There's no easy way W can show his 6th spade. ahydra

TWO4BRIDGE
I believe West has shown a 6th ♠ ( either 2S or 2NT! rebid, whichever you use ) , but I'd still go with the ♣-fit .
Statto
The play in 6♠ is awkward, we have to discover the ♣ loser (if there is one) before drawing trumps (because of the potential ♦ loser), which opens us up to a ♣ ruff. Couple that with the possibility of a 4-1 ♠ split, I think I'd rather be in the solid 6♣ with these hands, even at MPs.

JLOGIC
Meh, MP is hard. I think your bidding was reasonable. Kx of diamonds of diamonds makes spades much better....if it was 2 small I am not even sure spades is best.
whereagles
The contract is the optimal one. Playing spades is inferior. Oh well.
Zelandakh
Can I blame both for not playing a relay system? :P 1♠ = 10-17, 5+ spades, unbal... - 1NT = INV+ relay2♥ = max, 4+ clubs, GF... - 2♠ = relay3♣ = 6034 or 6124... - 3♦ = relay4♣ = 6124, 5 controls... - 4♦ = relay5♣ = controls in all suits except hearts... - 6♠ = MP?! Seriously though, the auction looks good and on another day you are getting a top.

It looks like the auction imght have gone 1s-2h-3s...6S in a natural system where 2s rebid would have been NF. If that is the case then just chalk it up to systemic randomness that they could not/did not uncover their club fit.
Fluffy
in natural systems (at least outside UK I think) 1♠-2x-2♠ is forcing
JLOGIC
Even if it wasn't wouldn't one bid 3C? You show extras with that bid as well, save room, and show a key feature of your hand (clubs). Partner has a convenient 3D or 3H bid available over which you can bid 3S.

I wasn't suggesting that it was good bidding.
