doesn't matter opps nt range

2c relay showing clubs and a major

a weak partner can pass the 2c bid

after 2d relay

2h = hearts (and clubs)

2s = spades (and clubs)

2d red suits

2h majors

2s spades and diamonds

2n minors

Direct seat

x generally a one suited hand but can also

be a strong balanced hand roughly near the

top of opps 1n range (or stronger) and asks

p to leave the x in with as little as an

A or K and Q (and a generally balanced hand)

If p cant stand the x they run to 2c (pass or

correct) OR bid their own suit.

PO seat

suit bids the same

x = 1 suited hand relay to 2c for pass or correct

if not I would like to christen it zeldon (variation of bro(zel) and (don)t

You might check David Stevenson's pages on defenses to 1NT.

searching this wonderful collection of defenses (ty for the link) the basic

set up is indeed called WONT. NOW for another question? The original design

is that the x is designed to show a one suited hand only and not for penalty

(and that is how I propose to use it in PO seat).

I propose to expand/change the definition to x (in direct seat) to include not

just 1 suited hands (on lead) but also strong balanced hands near or above the

range of the nt opener???? I looked and could not find this application anywhere.

Is that sufficient to rename a convention or should it be called wont modified???

anyone know ??????

I think you can call it "peanut butter" if you like. There aren't any rules on naming conventions, except that the publicist gets to choose the name, or it usually gets named after him. Some conventions end up with multiple names, for a variety of reasons (Cappelletti/Hamilton/Helms/Pottage, or Leaping Michaels/Shleifer, for example).
