daveharty
In a team match, some exuberant bidding lands you in a reasonable spot: LHO leads the ♣K: 2, 4...? What's your plan? Opps are playing UDCA. [hv=pc=n&w=sk5haqt76da982ca7&e=sjt82hj843dqct862&d=e&v=e&b=6&a=p2d(weak%202)2h3d3hp4hdppp]266|200[/hv] EDIT: Sorry something was missing. Diagram now correct. daveharty
Okay, LHO continues the ♣5 to the 6, 9, A. You cash the ♦A and ruff a diamond, LHO following 5,7 and RHO following 3,4. Now what?
gnasher
It would be nice to make it with ♥Kx and ♠AQ offside, by extracting all of LHO's clubs then endplaying him with a heart. However, I can't see a way to do that. Suppose I duck the club, win the next one, ruff a diamond, ruff a club, cash ♥A, and lead another diamond. If LHO has four clubs, he can ruff in and exit with his last club, giving me a ruff and discard but not giving me another trick. If LHO has only three clubs, that makes him 6223, so he can ruff in and give his partner a spade ruff. At the moment my best plan is to take a spade finesse. Edit: I can do it if LHO is 4234: duck the club, win the next one, ♦A, diamond ruff, club ruff, ♥A, diamond ruff, club ruff, diamond ruff, club ruff, exit with a heart.
