Void vs Void w/big double-fit

Why did you post this? Are you asking for suggested auctions? Because I can't imagine any sensible real life auction that doesn't include East bidding his 9-card diamond suit, even at red.

I would start 2C 3C 3S 5D which gives South a problem, particularly if 6C would be natural (which it would for me)

Well, overlooking easts bizarre silence, even if south doesn't bid the slam, north has an undisclosed 3 card support, 2 first round controls and a 2nd round control in a 3rd suit opposite a 2 bid and should be thinking of the possibility of a grand slam with a baby slam being the bare minimum. Hence, even if south doesn't blast the small slam, north will always take it there.

In fact, south blasting it removed all chance of reaching it. Why not 5 instead of 6, this tells north two things. First, south doesn't have the A, which makes the void even more golden and 2nd the K is a working card. After that, I think north bidding 7 is quite reasonable, though would feel better if there was some method of asking about trump quality, it should be fairly solid after the 4 bid, but if 5nt could still be understood as a grand slam force bid, that would be perfect.

Mainly to "tick" you off.

Actually, I'm curious about a Precision auction or a Relay auction .

BTW, I wasn't proud of our auction . No one got to the grand, and only ~ 1/3 of the pairs bid the small slam .

Right or wrong, East explained that since she had K x in partner's suit, she didn't want to " further muddy the waters" .

But I agree with YOU, East should have "insisted" on that 9 card suit.

If easts bids his obvious 5 diamond, I think that south should bid 5 . He does not want to play anything but 5 if partner can make no more move.

North, with a fit, the ace of clubs and the big diamond void will surely bid an inivtation for the grand with 6 .

On the given auction, I had bid 3 as south and 5 diamonds as North after that. But as I had not been able to ask for the queen of spades,I had setteled for 6 too.
