han
This is a highly amusing comment. The opponents are green and you are red. Why do you think that 5D cannt make. What is your partner supposed to bid over 3H withxxxxxQXXXAKxxor even KxxxxJxxxxAKx Whoops you are correct, 5D does not make on the second hand, but 6 does. Try some hands for partner with 6 or 7 diamonds to make a stronger case.
luckyloser
pass, 5 ♦, 4nt or dbl 4nt should show eqaul length in the minors. i dont like it 5 ♦ shows a one suiter dbl shows at least to places to play (not three at the 4-level!!).so if p bids 4♠ which is likely i can bid 5♦, showing a 2 suiter with better ♦ than ♣! this is surely better than a direct 5♦. i dont like pass bec 5 ♦ may be makeable or a good save! it is DBL! FM75
Ordinarily, I would pass. I note that it says board 12. Needing a number in a 12 board match, I might give 5♦ a shot, but that would depend on my assessment of opponents bidding style and playing strength..
