Strange but true passout

Red on Red, playing in the 2nd round of a club duplicate last night, you pass the following in 2nd chair:

QJxx

KQx

QJxx

xx

All Pass.....Looking at the traveler, you see a slew of -640's and one -1390.

Yes, your RHO passed with: KTxxx, void, x, AJxxxxx. Opponents are on a hook for 7!. LHO had something like: Ax, xxxxx, Axx, Qxx and pard held: xx, AJxxx, Kxxxx, K.

Can't ever remember a hand being passed out at one table that made slam at others. Bizarre!

Bizarre indeed! As a collector of bridge records, I have but four

cases of slams being passed out (and bid at the other/some other

table) and of these four one is apocryphal and in two cases

the pass was provoked by extraneous factors. So only

one genuine case remains. I wish your tourney were

a bigger one so that there would be documentation.

The funniest passout i remember was passed on to me by a friend of mine.

Both the opponents of my friend were playing forcing pass. Scoreup time, you have just played against 14 boards of forcing pass. You get to one board and the score is 0, ie passed out. One of the people goes "passed out? how did the bidding go?". (Makes more sense when you think about it)
