Phil
r/w ♠AJ5x ♥AQx ♦Ax ♣KJTx 1♣ - (3♦) - x - (5♦)? FWIW, a natural 2[di[ is not available for this pair
dwar0123
If my majors were equal I think I would bid 6♦, but they are not, so 6♠.
han
6S might look a little silly when partner is 3415, although it could still be a fine contract.
whereagles
I'll just dbl. If pard pulls, I'll jump it. Otherwise I'm fine playing this dbled.
ahydra
Depends what X is. I play it as negative - so partner can have as few as say 8 points with 4+ hearts, in which case I'll X. ahydra
MrAce
DBL and i dont think it is close to bidding on eventhough i know the result of this board.
ArtK78
Double. I am going plus in 5♦x. Anything else is just a guess.
Fluffy
double by now
Statto
I don't like double at these colours, but maybe that is best. At least it shows values and partner can do something if they want.
JLOGIC
We have an extremely likely slam and we are vulnerable against not, I don't understand double. I mean our diamonds are Ax opposite a very likely stiff, and partner showed values. I would try 5N.
MrAce
I choosed to DBL 5♦ because i wld dbl 3♦ with all these hands below. Most of them has slim chance in slam except. But these are the hands pd has a stiff ♦, there will be some hands where he has 2 of them if 3♦ bidder is agressive at these colors. But i wont construct hands with xx ♦. KQxxJxxxxQxxx Needs not to lose a ♥ + 3-2 ♠ or may go down simply by a ruff in 6♣ about %9.2 ? QxxxKJxxxQxxx Needs not to lose a ♠ about % 17 xxxxKJxxxAQxx Needs to lose only 1 ♠ AJxx vs xxxx QxxxJxxxxAQxx Needs to not lose 2 tricks in majors KQxxKJxxxxxxx Needs ♣ Q on and 3-2 ♠ or 4-2 ♥ so they wont get a ruff. KxxKJxxxQxxxx Needs ♠ finesse and no surprise ruff. KxxxxAQxxQxxx Needs trump Q finesse/drop and no ♣ ruff in 6 ♠, or in 6♣ probably needs 2-2 ♠. TxxKJTxxAQxxx Needs to lose only 1♠ Txx vs AJxx Justin when u see the original hand u will laugh too. Other table made slam but they literally had to not lose 2♠ from AJ76 vs 98xx but that wasnt enough to make slam they also needed to find 2 way finesse ♣ Q. Codo
Despite the holdings which makes slam bad, I do not want to wrirte down just 300 or 500, so I join Justins 5 NT.
Phil
We doubled and settled for a small plus against 5♦. Partner held 98xx KJTxx x Axx. The other table bid 6♥ which needs a little luck - I do not remember the auction, but I know that LHO did not preempt on Q x T9xxxx Q9xxx.
