the hog
Just curious how you play this - (1D) X (1S) 2S
mr1303
Natural, showing 5 spades. X here would show exactly 4. 2D would be the cue-bid showing any GF

inquiry
This shows responder has reasonable values with with hearts and diamonds (think michaels cue-bid), but with longer ♥. Think 5-4, or 6-5. I see everyone is using 2♠ to show ♠'s. In equality method, 2♦ shows ♠ potentially exposing the psyche. Equality methods have been covered elsewhere (for instance, see this thread equality over takeout doubles 1♣-X-1♠-?Full response on this auction are: DBL = balanced hand unsuit for natural 1NT or 3NT, or it shows diamonds1NT = natural2♣ = shows HEARTS2♦ = shows spades, despite them having bid them2♥ = hearts and diamonds, longer ♥, non-forcing2♠=micheals, shows longer ♥ plus diamonds, 1RF2NT = longer ♦ than hearts, 1RF3♣ = both majors, longer hearts (also psyche exposure)3♦=spades and diamonds, potential psyche exposure 3♥ = both majors, longer spades, potential psyche exposuree3♠ = request partner to bid 3NT with club stopperben
