German Open Team Qualifying 4th hand

I think responder in general has to be aggressive in this auction as 2 could be an extremely poor hand. But with queens in both of partner's short suits it makes sense to just bid 2. I would not move with West.

Anyway it looks like ten tricks could be difficult if diamonds are not 3-3.

I would bid 2 with the west hand and if east raised to 3 I would accept the game invite. I don't see much point in showing the 4 card diamond suit. I'll show the 6 spades. If we get to a playable game, it won't be in diamonds and if it ends up being nt, no reason to map out the hand for the opponents.

I would hate a 2 bid from west and would have duplicated the given auction. Yes West is 6-4- but not enough to invite and East? Point counters may count enough points for a stronger move, but the two queens in partners short suits do not look promising at all.

I found nothing wrong with our bidding either, so I was surprised to see that out of 8 tries, the scores were:

1x 2+2 (us)

3x 3NT +1

4x 4 =

Given that it includes many of Germany's top pairs, I was wondering what I was missing...
