Time zones

Actually, that seems like a silly question. Even if they had changed their rules, that would only cause errors during the time period between the old and new changeover dates. January is about halfway through the Daylight Time period, not likely to be affected by that.

I just googled, and NZ has started Daylight Time at the end of September since 2007.

I wonder if the forum has a general problem with the southern hemisphere, since its DST goes the opposite direction from the northern hemisphere. I found a document on the Invision web site that refers to DST as "an hour forward during the summer".

Not sure I can help further. I know about DST in Australia, varies between states, and New Zealand but that's about all in the southern hemisphere. I think your surmise must be correct. My computer clock is also set to GMT + 10 as on BBO, and then adjusted for DST, And it's correct. Perhaps if no one else has mentioned it we should not worry too much?

The problem appears to be that the time zone menu just sets the offset from GMT, it's not specific to your country or hemisphere (the cities in the menu are just examples), and the DST rules depend on your country.

They've put a bug report in, but for now the recommendation is to uncheck "DST Correction", and manually check "Is DST currently in effect" (this option appears when you uncheck the first one). You'll need to uncheck it in a few months when DST ends.
