neilkaz
Find a new partner. Anyone who can pass GSF or if not playing GSF or somehow not having heard of it but passing 5NT isn't worthy to be your partner nor mine either. ArtK78
♠: AKQ32♥: A♦: AKQ2♣: AQ6 WEST--NORTH--EAST--SOUTH-------------------3♥PASS--5NT----PASS--PASSPASS I died a little inside to see a pass...even more so when my partner holds this... ♠: 7♥: KQ98732♦: 5♣: K954It goes without saying that your partner really messed this one up. However, you had no reason not to bid 4NT (assuming it was key card) and then try to find out about the ♣K so that you could play 7NT rather than 7♥. RunemPard
I do not use keycards as most would, simple 0314 aces/kings 5H=no Q/K, 5S=Q or K, 5NT=BOTH In this case I am only concerned with the Q of hearts and the kings. Correct response for me is 6S (2 kings+Q of hearts).
RunemPard
Looking at the bidding of others on this hand...I may of found one of the most absurd auctions for this... 2NT-3D7NT ? LOL
RunemPard
That or the two pairs who decided a direct bid of 7H was the ultimate bid. Any thinking mind would want to find out about the kings and realize that if 7H works, 7NT obviously works being that trump is not required. Zelandakh
I do not use keycards as most would, simple 0314 aces/kings 5H=no Q/K, 5S=Q or K, 5NT=BOTH In this case I am only concerned with the Q of hearts and the kings. Correct response for me is 6S (2 kings+Q of hearts).Even playing this scheme, I assume after 5♣ (0 or 3) you can bid 5♦ to ask about the ♥KQ using the same response structure (5♥ neither, 5♠ one, 5NT both) followed by king asks. If you cannot asks about these cards after a 5m response then I honestly do not understand your key card ask system at all. If you are playing with a pick-up partner (on BBO) then you are taking a risk in using GSF without agreement. Given the key card asks it sounds like you were playing with a regular partner though. Presumably their brain was so befuddled by the strange 4NT responses that they forgot what you agreed the 5NT response should be! :D
