If you allow me to bid it through a HUM.

•Pass= 13+ any shape

2= 6-11 singl./void 4441 or 5?440

•2NT= relay

3= 4441 4/6-9 or 5440 4/6-11 (if 4p=A, 5p=K+anyQ)

•3= Control Points?

3NT = 1 CP (thus a King)

•4 scan (HSDC order)

4= K, no Q

•4= scan

5= Q, Q, no Q

now comes the tricky part if no J you will not like a lead

•5= scan Jacks

5= no J

•5NT=scan

6= J, no J

•6NT and in the correct hand

Pass

If J and no J = the 5NT answer, you can pass eventually

2 3NT

4 4

6 Pass

where,

  • 2 = multi 2, either weak two major, bal 22-23, or acol 2 in either minor,
  • 3NT = 4-4 in majors, ask partner to bid his major if weak two in major
  • 4 = acol two in clubs
  • 4 = cue bid, no diamond contol, slam try
  • 6 end

Requirement for the acol minor part of this auction, is the ability to play this minor suit in slam opposite singelton, so north can make slam cue-bid try.

to read more about this treatment, which i play all the time, see chris rydal's webpage at.... http://www.cavendish.demon.co.uk/bridge/two/diamonds.htm

Now change the condition of contest from IMPS to Matchpoints:

[hv=d=s&v=e&n=sqj72hk954dq1072c4&s=sa3ha6dkj4cakqj52]133|200|Scoring: MP

NOTE CHANGE to Matchpoints

How do you get to 6NT?[/hv]

In a reasonable strong field, we will wrong side the contract, but can't be helped, but at mp, you got to take a shot at 6NT... does you little good to be in 6 when the field is in 6NT by south. In a weak field, south may choose to use the matchpoint auction.

2 3NT

4 4

4 5 <<----- 4 cue-bid, 5 nothing else to cue

5NT 6NT <<----- 5NT pick a slam, 6NT ok

Pass

Looks like easy hand for MIDMAC:

S N

1NT 2

3 3NT

6NT

1NT: any 20+ points

2: 8+points, 4+card , 1+ control

3NT: natural, no extras (p.f.a.)

6NT: count your tricks: if there are only 3 tricks, than N will have points in majors for extra stoppers.
