ahydra
MPs - all NV♠Qxx♥Qxxx♦J108♣Q8x My partner had this hand, I was dealer. Bidding goes 1H-(X) and my partner raised to 2H. Pass-pass-3D and partner bids 3H. 2 off (NV and MPs, so good score against 110 their way, but swap the black kings and it's 1 off against nothing their way). Our agreements were nothing complex - 4cM, weak NT and after the X, cue = good raise (11+), jump is pre-emptive. My partner thought he was worth the 3H bid given the vulnerability and the 9 card fit. I thought it was an ugly hand given the lack of aces/kings, the 4333 shape and the diamond holding. So, which of you would have bid 3H (please state whether you'd bid it on the first or second round of the auction), and who would have passed on the second round? Thanks, ahydra
mr1303
Raise 1H to 2. No further bidding from me. 3H is horrible, particularly when playing Acol.
