georgi Posted December 26, 2011 Report Share Posted December 26, 2011 4♥ comes after not other suitable call to give. 3NT requires 13HCP, GIB has 12 here.3♠ will require 14+ 4♣/4♦ ( if you have opened 1♣ ) is 17+ Diamonds are not yet approved as 4♥ just shows points. So 4NT is as described - it's not a bug. 4♥ doesn't seem too pretty here with that hand, but tough hand to give the safest call with North's hand.
