Competitive bidding over semiartificial 1club

I started to play something that is 2/1 with weak 1NT, unbalanced 1 and 1 being 15-20 NT with any 5minor or 12+ unbalanced . Whole system is sound(preempts 8-11) if that matters. Problem is what is best treatment after weak jump overcalls after particulary 1 opening, but also 1 and 1Major, the last are difficult couse of 15-20NT range, I m thinking about Lebenshol here, but never played lebenshol after 1suit opening and preempt, if we assume Leb, what hand would be expected do break 3 puppet? Any ideas from experianced with problem players would be great.

If I understand this right, your one club opening is a 2-way bid...12+ unbalanced clubs or 15-20 with a 5m. So you can only count on partner to have 12+. So pretend partner has opened an artificial 1C and have responder try to describe his own hand.

1C (1D) 1H P

1S-4-cds, not forcing but wide-ranging

1N-unbalanced, hates hearts

2C-unbalanced, minimum

2D-GF cue

2H-nf raise

2S-GF natural

How about some Rubensohl variation?

1C (2S)

dbl-negative

2N-clubs, GI+

3C-diamonds, GI+

3D-hearts, GI+

3H-GF, stopper ask

3S-GF, minors

If opener accepts 3C, he has a minimum unbalanced club hand. If he doesn't accept, his bid is natural and forcing.

If he accepts diamonds or hearts, he's minimum unbalanced and short in that suit. You might stop then in a 6-1.

I think Rubensohl is better here because it's important for someone to start showing suits.

Agree with straube.

I play essentially the same, (10-13NT, so 14+ if bal) and this one of the sequences that I have really tried to figure out.

First note is that you can, and maybe should (I do), include competitive hands with long red suits in 2NT bid, at least for hearts.

You want to be able to bid hand like xx KQxxxxx xxx x, opposite strong NT you won't mind taking your chances in 4 but when partner holds some nonfitting unbalanced hand, 3 is the limit, or even too much.

I actually advocate a switch, with direct 3 for such competitive hand and 2NT+ cue for stopper ask. (So doesn't have club support)

Other thing I've given a lot of thought is playing 2NT competitive/GF instead of inv+. That is still mainly thought it progress, but if you happen to test the other one, I might pick the other method to give it a test run.

Thx for insigfull comments, now another shot... partner bid 1 or 1(transffers to higher amjor, and we want to show 4card support after overcall of 1/1 bid, any ideas how to destinguish balanced hands from weak or strong unbalanced with support, for now(like in offensive bidding) i just simple raise with 4card and 15-17balanced, same bid is used to show hand with 4card support, of course some hands maybe put into some sort of supp X with 3card fit, but what if partner bids after opps overcall, now no DBL is availble?

I don't see that you have enough bids available to differentiate those raises and stay at the 2-level. I think you need support doubles. In competition, your single raise should show four trump and 15-17 balanced or four trump with a minimum and shortness somewhere (so if you count a couple of points for the shortness, you almost have the equivalent of a strong NT hand). If you have something like a 5-loser hand, you can jump raise partner.
