The 3 easiest bridge questions ive ever seen. Kindergarden bridge questions. I really don't understand what point your trying to make.

I guess I'm a kindergardener. I have an opinion for all 3, but I'd like to see some confirmation. I think we're looking at tricks from a cross-ruff vs tricks from having one's six-card suit be trump.

Difficult to answer in a vacuum IMO, without having complete context of the hand, like side suits, trump split, etc...

I would think that overall strength matters. The weaker we are, the more I would want to be in my six-card suit. The stronger, then in the 7-cd fit.

Thanks to those that answered the poll. I had thought there might be some support for playing in a 6-0 vs a 5-2. The 5-2 doesn't offer much cross-ruff opportunity and after being tapped, I would think that the 6-cd suit would not provide a source of tricks.

Here are my simulation results for your three scenarios.

 

In each case I have used double dummy results and restricted the declaring side to have 18-22 hcp (average hands).

 

I did do some smaller simulations unrestricted in hcp. The results were similar.

 

The number at the end of each data set is the average number of double dummy tricks made.

If the 6 carder is like AKQJxx I don't worry of missing out on a side 44 fit :)

I prefer a 6-0 to a 4-3, but have no evidence to back this up!

It certainly does seem to depend upon hand strength, as well as suit strength. I higher hand strength / lower suit strength pushes me more towards 4-3, and higher suit strength / lower hand strength pushes me towards the 6-0.
