luke warm
lead a club and duck unless rho plays something... can't let him lead a diamond if you can help it
Fluffy
There is no problem about ♦ Jimmy, you have a sure stopper there. I would win ♥A in hand and duck a ♣, but since you don´t let me lets cash ♣AK and continue the suit untill it is stablished.
Free
Why did I take ♥Q in trick 1 and ♣ with my K in trick 2? I also don't see the big problem in ♦, but I want to guard myself against a 4-1 split in ♣ without wasting entries. I would take the ♥ lead with the A or K, and lead a small ♣ to the 9. That will break any tempo they have in both ♠ and ♥, and the ♦s are still stopped...
inquiry
hrumph.... I wouldn't have started this way, either... but I will not change the condition of contest.... If clubs split, easy, If north has the rest of the clubs, mord difficult. So I will take an a safety play... 1S, 5C, 3H will see me home. I cross the spade ACE, and lead a club from dummy. If east play low, I just cover... and claim making. IF east plays Q or J, I win, and knock out the last high club. The Diamond TEN NINE in dummy is JUST good enough to keep me safe. Fluffy
The safety may become unsafety when ♣ are 4-1 at your back, you may not ever reach your 9th trick ever: ♠K.

Well, I said I wouldn't play the way the declarer did.. I would not win the first heart in dummy, and I would start clubs from my hand. I did comment, however, I would solve the problem as present, with winning the first heart in dummy, and winning the first club in my hand. I didn't set that part of the problem. I made a comment on it. After winning HEART in dummy and first club in your hand, how would you play?
Dragan
The safety may become unsafety when ♣ are 4-1 at your back, you may not ever reach your 9th trick ever: ♠K. If ♣ is 4-1 at your back I think declarer is down 90%.

Perhaps the best play is won by hand on the first trick, then cash CA to drop stiff Q/J/T of LHO. then play SJ to go back to dummy to make a finesse in C. Dragan
Right line of play as it is started. 3nt=5♣+3♥+1♠ So after 9♣ 10♣ K♣ x♣, Best line is to play jack spade to Ace (or king) and again impass Club. Actually best line of play find inqury. But later he little change his plan. All others will go down since RHO had ♣QJTx ♦AQxx), so after taking his first ♣trick he will swith to !♦ Thanks all.
