chalks
[hv=pc=n&e=sa73ha73dcaq98654&d=n&v=n&b=5&a=1c]133|200[/hv]You're in an individuals tournament, and you have no idea how your partner bids beyond SAYC. Now what? Here's the full hand: [hv=pc=n&s=s542hat742dkqjt4c&w=sqjt86h9863d965c7&n=sk9hkqj5d82ckjt32&e=sa73hda73caq98654&v=n&a=1cdr1sp2s3hp4hppp]399|300[/hv] I am not really happy with the auction that ensued: But they ended down 2. Which I was fairly certain would happen. I ALMOST doubled. :(
the_clown
For a start, I would pass 1♣. I would be very happy if ops play there, (and even more happy if p finds a balancing double passed around) since I will surely write +300 at least. I can bid ♣ naturally in the next round to show my hand. If you double, what do you plan to do if partner bids 2♥?. 3♣ would be artificial and bidding NT surely doesnt imply being void in partner's suit. Or if partner doubles their ♥ contracts, because you need to have at least 3 small ♥s for my takeout double?
Statto
If you double, what do you plan to do if partner bids 2♥?Then I'd raise to 4♥. But I assume you were thinking of if P bids some number of ♦s :P. I too would pass for now.
Cyberyeti
Pass then bid clubs. Then I'd raise to 4♥. But I assume you were thinking of if P bids some number of ♦s . I too would pass for now. The hand he quoted is void in diamonds, the real hand is void in hearts if you look at the spoiler.
