Opener's third bid, and, why: ?
mike777
4c easy no problem yet. why?? well I do have KJx support and a huge hand. this 4sf auction at the 3 level is never pretty but this time we have a great hand for once. lets look for the grand. sidenote as usual i bet most of us wont know "strictly sayc"
S2000magic
4♣. Partner should have at least 5 clubs and 4 diamonds for his reverse, with 6 - 7 losers; we have 5 losers so we set the trump suit and start cue bidding after this. We're looking for at least a small slam, maybe a grand.

kenrexford
3♠ for me. From my side of the table, I am playable in 4♠ opposite a small stiff, so I don't mind pretending that I have six spades. From partner's side of the table, 3♦ has a lot of possible meanings. Maybe he has nothing useful in diamonds and is fishing for direction. Maybe he has slam interest in hearts. Maybe he has slam interest in clubs. Maybe he actually has a diamond-club two-suiter. I just don't know yet. The problem with 4♣ now, IMO, is that it puts a lot of pressure on partner to come up with a 4♠ call when the focus is in that direction. If partner's next call is 3NT, I can bid 4♣ now, and it seems better to me. 3♠ might cause partner some problems pursuing a club slam, but hopefully my comntinuation after his shrugged-shoulders 3NT will re-enthuse him when that's going on. mike777
If pard really has a minimum gf and a misfit then just bid 3nt not 3d. If pard wants to play in spades bid spades not 3d. bidding 3d sets up a very ugly/difficult 4sf auction, dont complicate the bidding if you have another option. that makes bidding 4c very easy over 3d 4sf here. EricK
4♣ looks obvious. I have shown 5♠ and 4♥, now I have the chance to show 3♣, extras and deny a 5th ♥ or a 6th ♠. If this information doesn't help partner find the correct contract, there's not much more I can do, really.

Flameous
Sidetracking, what is 4♦ here?
whereagles
No clue. 4C for me. If pard can cooperate with a 4H or 4S cue, we're on our way to 6.
Charlie Yu
4♣, no ♦ stopper, secondary support to ♣
Fluffy
4♣ is obvious, but its easy for me to see how 3♠ would be better when game is our top, specially at MPs. But I don´t see why I´d be pessimistic when partner is unlimited.
