I should bid 1♠ with 5♠ , not 1nt or am I a little unlucky, some easts wont open?

I'd probably double (then bid 2♠ after 2♦-Pass-Pass), but there's no question that any call you make is imperfect. Partner might have 4 hearts, in which case we'd prefer a heart contract to spades (and probably to notrump as well).

The hand is too good for 1♠, and 1NT is, well, creative perhaps.

I would start with X, raise either Major to 3, or show ♠ over a ♦ response at my 2nd turn.

The game in the bidding is about majors I would need a pretty unusual texture to consider 1NT rather than directly getting one or both majors into the picture with a five-four hand.

I passed 1N and we let them make 3. 1,3-,4- /15 for these 3 baords. Oh well.

On 11, I would sup X over 1♠, however, I think the ops can always outbid your side.

On 12, I balance with 2♠ all day any vul. Decent chance to make unless ops find their ♦ tricks early.

Yeah, I'm surprised that on board 2 you didn't support double (or just raise hearts if you don't play support doubles).

 

On the first hand, hiding the majors seems wrong. I'd bid 1♠, but I'd think about doubling instead.

After beating myself up all night for these 2-3 boards, I was reviewing them with my partner over breakfast this morning.

I say, "I should have made a support double!!!", my partner looks at me and replies "I don't play support doubles"

 

LOL maybe that is an indication of how strong the field was.

Board 12 is either unlucky, or your partner's fault for not balancing aggressively, I guess. I can't see doubling 1NT with this hand unless the opps are playing a weak NT. I am curious how they made 3 though!

Board 11 I am not sure why you open 1♦ with 4-5 in the minors. This creates an ambiguity and perhaps occasionally to do so with severe disparity between the suits is ok. Here though with two ace empty suits I can't see the advantage except that you don't have to rebid 2♣ but I would be happy rebidding 1NT over 1♠ and 2♥ over 1♥ with this hand.

 

In competition I would certainly be happy to raise hearts via a support double or not. I suppose having opened a weaker suit you were more inclined to rebid your best suit.

 

Board 12 I don't think balancing with a ten high suit and a three count is a winning action at unfavourable. The south hand isn't so bad for a penalty (values) double of 1NT. You are reasonably happy if partner bids a five-card suit and you have an ok lead in the ♥ K. Over that north has an easy 2♠.
