dwar0123
Playing imps, using cappelletti vs a strong nt bid. [hv=pc=n&s=sj3hak97dakjt72c7&d=n&v=n&b=5&a=p1n]133|200[/hv] I think I am suppose to double, but it is very easy for me to see them running 7+ black suit tricks. So I chickened out and bid 2clubs raised the 2diamond relay and then bid 4 hearts when west came in with 4 clubs. Result was bad.
aguahombre
Unclear what the question is. Should I be using Capp? Many posters here think it sucks.Should I have doubled? Dunno. What would 3D have meant initially? Dunno with Capp. Why did I bid again when Lefty finally joined the party but partner chose silence? Good question. wank
cappathingy's a terrible convention but it's ok in this case because you've got a penalty double. having declined to double, you showed a strong hand by bidding 3♦ when you could have passed 2♦, as such bidding 4♥ was to say the least foolhardy. bigbenvic
I'm not doubling 1NT, partner always leads a spade :-) I'm happy to show the suit and raise to 3, will pass when they bid 4♣, pards has done very little, probably holds a 5314 type hand and any values (other than a red Q) he might have are being squashed by east.
MrAce
I'm not doubling 1NT, partner always leads a spade :-) Does your pd always lead out of turn also ?
bigbenvic
Does your pd always lead out of turn also ? No that's usually my specialty. I still don't think I'm doubling at the table. I'm 6-4 and 5 losers, oppenents most likely have 1 of the black suits and if I start with a X it becomes harder & harder to unravel. I'd be tempted to show this as a 2 suiter in the reds, wish I could show 4♥ and 6m.
neilkaz
I would make a penalty X here as you may get a big number if no one runs. Someone will probably run and then I can bid my ♦ unless partner has run to ♥ With the actual bidding it is clearly best to give up after you raise PD's relay to 3♦. Bidding 4♥ is simply asking to be set a couple tricks in a doubled game as PD likely doesn't have much.
