Fluffy
♠AQJ1084♥J643♦K♣82 Little agreements in place and partner deals and opens. IMPs, nobody vul 1♣-1♠2♦-?? Think of your call now, then look at the spoiler: If you pick 3♠ partner will bid 3NT If you pick 2♠ partner will bid 3NT If you pick 2♥ partner will bid 2NT
whereagles
3S and raise 3NT to 4.
Free
2♥, would work great if partner can rebid 2♠ now. However, he doesn't, so after his 2NT I'll rebid 3♠ to show a good suit. Lets see if partner can find a cuebid.
andy_h
3♠ then 4♠
EricK
Although my hand is nice, I am not too enamoured of it if partner shows no desire to support my ♠. So I'll bid 2♥ (if it is 4th suit forcing), follow it up with 3♠, and give up if he then bids 3NT.
mike777
3s then pass 3nt. I think 3s told my story.9/10+ hcp and 6s
aguahombre
3s then pass 3nt. I think 3s told my story.9/10+ hcp and 6sSame answer as to passing 3NT. I told a slightly different story, but it doesn't matter on this hand. Gave full value to the diamond king and extra value to the quality of the spade suit ---showed around 11-12. In either case, partner knows my range (whatever it is), and placed the contract. As to the 2H bidders, IMO the focus should be on showing the good spades rather than torturing partner with a bid which is forcing but doesn't say much about my pattern. I wanted to describe and let opener be the boss.

JLOGIC
Yeah I cannot imagine pulling 3N after I bid 3S... maybe it's just because my expectation of 3S is always a 1 loser suit (else why jump)? Do others have a different expectation for it?
Fluffy
playing in NT was the key, partner had: ♠-♥Qxx♦AQxx♣AKQJxx In 4♠ ♥AK+ruff and ♠K to lose, in 3NT there are 10 easy tricks and maybe 11. I think partner will accept invitations to slam but not sure.

Do others have a different expectation for it? Usually a 0-1 loser suit. If 1 loser, then probably either extra length or something on the side. Which basically means I should pass 3NT if I bid 3S, as I really have nothing to spare LOL.
