No.. against optimal defense, I can't see any solution... even double dummy. West is just too good for you.... This is your chance to get me if I am wrong..,,, :-) Ben
whereagles
eheh, I'm not out to get you lol B) But what if you swap the diam 9 with the 5? You might just have a smother play: finesse trumps again, ruff a club, ruff a heart, play last club discarding a spade. Now West's king is trapped. inquiry
eheh, I'm not out to get you lol B) But what if you swap the diam 9 with the 7? You might just have a smother play: finesse trumps again, ruff a club, ruff a heart, play last club discarding a spade. Now West's king is trapped. Do they allow you to swap cards with your opponents in the games you play in? Interesting concept. If I was going to swap cards, I would change the diamond 7 for the diamond King myself, because even swapping the diamond SEVEN for the diamond NINE you can't make it... The ending you propose will be something like this, and east leads a club... [hv=n=s9hdac&w=shdk7c&e=sqhjdc&s=shd95c]399|300|[/hv] Noiw if you swapped the diamond five for the NINE, or if you hadn't lead out the diamond ten.. now you would almost have something..... Of course, nothing saves you on the first hand, and if you swap diamond nine and seven leading diamond ten still dooms you.. at least imho....East just exits with the spade QUEEN instead of the club, you ruff (dummy still has a spade) and WEST overruffs.... So, still can't make it, no way, no how... Ben
Fluffy
If defemders were sleepy it coudl be possible to develop a ♠/♣ squeeze against east, but seems like they would vut your comunication as soon as you rectify the count.
